The Smart Pet Feeder Classroom Kit comes with various components to foster the creativity and hands-on skills of primary and secondary school students. It also enables students to enhance their understanding of programming by creating code to operate the feeder.
The Elecfreaks Smart Pet Feeder Classroom Kit for the BBC micro:bit operates using the following steps: first, the PIR sensor detects the presence of a pet; then, the sonar:bit determines if the pet is within 20cm of the wooden house. If both conditions are met, the servo will rotate, releasing pet food from the storage box. Once the food has been dispensed, the servo will return to its starting position, ready for the next feeding.
